2015 Call for Donations
Our first ads appear in the latter part of September in the Belgrade and Bozeman newspapers announcing this year's season for giving to our troops! Donated items are accepted through October 31. Donations of money are accepted all year, but especially needed during this fundraising period.
2014 – Thank You All So Much!
Our sincerest thanks to everyone for their tremendous support of Adopt A Sox — whether you or your company made a monetary donation, sponsored a football or Frisbee, gave or purchased items to fill our boxes, allowed us to be in your store, or volunteered your time. Without all of you, Adopt A Sox could not be successful and our active troops wouldn’t know how much we appreciate their service. In 2014, we handed out 200 Christmas stockings to those on active duty and shipped 45 boxes to those stationed overseas. We also shipped 50 boxes to a Montanan helping with the Ebola campaign in Africa; their need was tremendous and Kenyon Noble stepped up to help us fill the boxes on very short notice.
Cash for Candy from Sayre Orthodontics
Sayre Orthodontics has been a supporter of Adopt A Sox for several years and they're continuing their Cash for Candy program again this year. The candy gets donated to AAS and included in the boxes and Christmas stockings sent to troops.
Cash for Candy
- Bring your Halloween candy to Sayre Orthodontics November 2–5 and 9–12 between 8 am and 5 pm.
- Collect $2 for every pound of candy you bring in.
- We will also donate $2 to your school for every pound of candy you bring in.

Welcome KTVM-6 as Newest AAS Sponsor
We are pleased to announce our newest sponsor, NBC-Montana KTVM! Positive television coverage is critical to any organization trying to gain exposure, and for a small nonprofit, it's effectively impossible to afford the cost. We are thankful for and honored by KTVM’s interest in becoming involved as our ongoing strategic partner to help expand the reach of our voice in the way that only television can. So watch for our spots on NBC, and if you have the opportunity, share your thanks for their help showing the community support of our Montana troops — our hometown heroes!
Changing Times; Changing Mission
Since Adopt A Sox's (AAS) inception, our mission has been to ship large care packages to Montana troops stationed overseas during the holidays. In 2014, with most of our Montana troops home, AAS would have had no troops to honor with this limitation. We wish to express appreciation for our actively serving Montana troops, who selflessly serve whether deployed or not. The AAS board formally changed our mission to include our active Montana troops wherever they are. When deployed, our troops will receive our signature large gift boxes of needed and useful items. When serving at home, yet standing ready to be called, we recognize our service men and women with a large Christmas stocking filled with fun and useful items and a gift card to a local grocery store. Either way, they receive cards and a letter to express the appreciation of our community.
Year Around Donation Locations
Donate items during normal business hours at Big Sky Western Bank downtown Bozeman. Donations of money can be made at any Big Sky Western bank or mailed to Adopt A Sox.
